Download Issues:
Q. When I try to download
the .SIT file, it downloads as a .SAS file. How do I fix this?
A. This problem can be fixed by simply changing
the extension back to .SIT once the program downloads.
Palm
Program Registration:
Q. How do I access the registration
screen in my new Palm software?
A. To access the registration screen, tap the
menu bar at the top of any of the screens in your Palm software, select
'Options', and then select 'Register...'.
Q. How do I make the Palm
software I just downloaded accept the registration code I received?
A. There are several things to remember when
inputting your registration code:
- The code must be entered EXACTLY as it appears
in the registration e-mail you received.
- The registration code is case sensitive. All
letters, if applicable, in the code must be input in upper case.
- All of the "0" characters (if they
show up in your registration code) are zeros, not the letter "O".
- Make absolutely sure that the "User"
field on the Palm registration screen in TotalTrig/VectorCalc/Propagator
is the name you provided as the Hotsync name when you bought the software.
For example, if your Hotsync name ("User" name) is "John
Doe" and there is one space between John and Doe on your Palm,
and the name you registered the software with has two spaces, then
the registration code will not work. Also, if your Hotsync name is
"John Doe" and you registered the software with "john
doe", the registration code you receive will not work.
- Make sure you do not put a user name in the
"User" blank on the Palm registration screen. This name
comes from when you first set up your Palm and is simply displayed
here for your reference.
Q. What if I have not received
my registration code and it has been more than two days since I registered
the software?
A. Most of the time, when something like this
happens, the email program you are using rejects mail because of a spam
filter. Be sure and set your spam filter to accept email from where
you ordered the software. Then email customer service from where you
bought the software and have them resend your code.
Ordering
Palm Software:
Q. How do I order from Multiology?
A. Simply click on any of the "Add to Cart"
links on the Links, TotalTrig
or VectorCalc pages. Transactions
on this site are handled by PayPal and are completely secure, private
and safe. If you've already added items, click the "View Cart"
button to either view your cart or proceed to checkout. BE SURE and
supply your Hotsync user ID from your Palm (see the FAQ
for additional information) so a code may be generated for you. This
can be added on the notes section of the PayPal screen. An unlock key
will then be sent to you within two days.
Please note that clicking on any of these links will open another window,
so be sure and temporarily disable your popup blocker if one is running.
Q. Can I order Palm software if I don't have
a credit card or a Paypal account?
A. Yes, you can send a money order, check, or
cashier's check to:
Multiology, LLC
121 Lou Ellen Lane
Harvest, AL 35749
The money order or check should be made out to
Multiology, LLC. Be sure to include an email address to which to send
the registration code. If a money order or cashier's check is used,
a registration code will be generated and sent no later than two days
after receipt. If a personal check is used, the registration code will
be sent once the check clears the bank.
Running Palm Software:
Q. What is MathLib and do
I have to have it to run the software?
A. Multiology software requires that MathLib
be installed, which is a free PalmOS shared library that provides a
full set of IEEE-754 double-precision math library functions for Palm
applications to use. If MathLib is not installed, an alert screen will
appear, and the software will exit when the OK button is pressed. There
is, however, a good chance that MathLib is already installed on your
system and there is no need to install it again.
The MathLib.prc file is included in each distribution of software,
so it may be installed as needed. It can be used with any OS 2.0+ Palm
program and is distributed under the terms of the GNU Library General
Public License. It is freely available with full source code and documentation
at the MathLib Information (http://www.radiks.net/~rhuebner/mathlib.html)
web page. It is not a part of the software program, and you are not
paying anything for its use; a copy is simply included in the archive
for your convenience.
Q. What is the small light purple rectangle in the
lower right corner of the screen?
A. This only shows up on some Palms and is the Graffiti Shift Indicator.
It indicates in which input mode the Palm is -- upper/lower case, numeric/regular
input.
TotalTrig
Issues:
Q. The Arc-Length Solver screen is complaining
that I am not entering correct values. Why?
A. Input values are constrained as follows, and an alert dialog will
appear if any are violated.
- The angle (A) must be between 0 and 360 degrees.
- The arc length (s) must be less than 360 degrees times the radius
(r).
Q. The Right-Triangle Solver screen is complaining
that I am not entering correct values. Why?
A. Input values are constrained as follows, and an alert dialog will
appear if any are violated.
- The hypotenuse (r) must be greater than the adjacent side (x)
or the opposite side (y).
- The angle (A) must be less than 90 degrees.
- When the Area and hypotenuse (r) are input, there are situations
where no solutions are found. For example, there is no valid solution
when entering a "small" value of r and a "large"
value of Area. If this happens, an alert dialog will appear.
- The Toggle button is used to toggle between the two triangle solutions
possible when the Area and hypotenuse (r) are input.
Q. The Oblique-Triangle Solver screen is complaining
that I am not entering correct values. Why?
A. Input values are constrained as follows, and an alert dialog will
appear if any are violated.
- It is not allowed to enter the three angles only. There are an
infinite number of solutions when only the three angles are input.
- If one or two angles are input, the sum of these angles must be
less than 180 degrees.
- There are certain situations in which no solution is possible.
For example, entering "small" numbers for sides a and
b and a "large" number for Area will not yield a solution.
- If two sides and one of the angles opposite those two sides are
input, there can be no solution, one solution, or two solutions.
If there is no solution, an alert dialog will appear. If there are
two solutions, then the toggle button will appear.
VectorCalc
Issues:
Q. What does "[nan]" mean in
the output field of VectorCalc?
A. "Nan" means "not a number". For example, if
you only enter one vector (say A) you will get a [nan] in the Angle
Betw. A & B field since there is no B vector.
Q. How do I enter a negative vector component or
a negative exponent for a vector component?
A. To change the sign of a vector component, click the plus (or minus)
sign between the colon and the vector component field. To change the
sign of the exponent, click on the plus (or minus) sign between the
"e" and the exponent field.
